Semester 2 Classes

I recently just followed another college freshman named Karla! I saw she posted about what classes she was taking in the spring and it gave me some peace knowing i’m not the only one nervous/excited for the new semester! Next semester I am still completing my geneds so I’m not really taking any core classes yet but I tried to choose classes that could help with my major. For those of you who don’t know I am a communications major!

Art 120: Introduction to Art    MWF 9-9:50am

-I am a little nervous for this class not gonna lie. I looked on rate my professor and the reviews were not that great… I know I shouldn’t judge my class off of some other kid’s review but it does make me a bit anxious. I don’t know much about art though so I am a little excited to learn more!

CSC 101: Computing Concepts ONLINE

-I am very excited to take this class! I heard it is tedious but I love things that involve the computer. The great thing about this class is that it fulfills my math gened and I don’t have to do a lot of math. I am NOT a math person TRUST me…I’m happy I can take this and not waste my time and money failing an algebra class. Another pro/con about this class is it’s online… that means I can wear pj’s and take my quizzes but what if I need help?

GWS 150: Gender and Women Studies T/TH 4-5:15pm

-I honestly don’t know what to expect from this class. Some people LOVE it and others HATE it. I am just going to enter this class with an open mind. I am not too thrilled its later in the night but oh well I guess. You gotta do what you gotta do to fulfill your geneds.

HIS 145: Women in the North American Colonies & the US 1500-1890 MWF 9-9:50am

-Again another one of my gened requirement fulfillments. Im not too sure what to expect from this class but I am excited because I do like learning about history!

PSY 103: Towards Self Understanding T/TH 8-9:15am

-This class I am very excited to take! I love psychology and was never able to take a class in high school besides sociology. I am very harsh on myself at time and hopefully this class can help me come to terms with accepting myself!

These are my 2018 Semester 2 classes! If you have any advice or have taken these classes before I would LOVE to hear from you!

Serengetee Rep

I have been chosen to be a campus rep for this amazing brand Serengetee! I figured that as a communications major I need to start doing things to help build my application and this would be the perfect way. A campus and brand ambassador is a great way doing so because I get to practice my communication skills and promoting a brand! So a little bit about this amazing company; “By purchasing fabric from over 25 countries, we support artisans, their families, and ancient fabric making traditions” Serengetee also gives back 10% of their profits to different grassroot causes to help improve the life of the communities! Why did I choose Serengetee? I chose to be a part of this brand because of 1. Their mission, 2. The brand is also based in LA and everything is handcrafted 3. I am a HUGE travel buff which you will soon find when I post more! I am going to Ireland in the summer and have other ideas planned along the way. I want to be part of a brand that encourages trying new things and getting out there and appreciating the world we live in also the sights there are to see!

My Makeup Must-haves

I recently got the chance to go to Ulta and Sephora to do a little makeup supply updating! With my makeup haul it got me thinking why not share this with everyone else? So here goes:

Screen Shot 2018-01-14 at 11.50.56 PMSmashbox Iconic Photo Finish primer ($36): I have very oily skin and this stuff is a DREAM. It is a little pricey which sucks but a little bit goes a long way and I have had mine for about a year now! It really does help with matting my foundation and preventing my skin from getting to oily.

Screen Shot 2018-01-14 at 11.53.20 PMAnastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($21): At first I was skeptical about buying this product. I thought “what if its just hype and not that great?” but I was wrong! I have used other brow pencils and nothing compares to this one. Like I stated above a little bit goes a long way and I have had this brow pencil since August and still have plenty product left!

Screen Shot 2018-01-15 at 12.01.23 AMKat Von D Tattoo Liner ($20): This eyeliner really should be first on my list. I LOVE IT. I have NEVER found an eyeliner better than this. Please if you know of something a bit cheaper but lasts as long as this does let me know! I can put this eyeliner on at 7 am and it will still look sharp by 9 pm! Trooper Black is the only color I have tried but I really do recommend this to EVERYONE.

Screen Shot 2018-01-15 at 12.06.11 AMMaybelline Volum’ Express The Rocket Washable Mascara ($7.99): Ok it looks cheap and crusty but its GREAT in many ways. It doesn’t break the bank (God Bless) and it has the perfect volume! My eyelashes always fan out and look unreal when I apply this mascara!

Screen Shot 2018-01-15 at 12.11.52 AMMaybelline Fit Me Concealer ($7.49): I swear by this concealer. My acne can get BAD and this does the trick! Granted I go through it kind of fast because a little bit doesn’t go a long way in this case but I can usually get at least 3 months out of it. With this price I think thats a steal.

These are my daily makeup go to’s. I would love to know what your fave makeup products are!

Dear 2018

2017 was a great year it had its ups; Graduating high school, becoming a college undergrad, becoming an aunt, the list goes on…and the downs; not going to my dream school. I am very thankful that my only real down of 2017 was that I wasn’t able to attend Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. But with 2017 in the past and 2018 the present I hope to implement a new lifestyle and attitude. With college comes the infamous freshman 15. Now trust me I am NOT happy about this but it made me realize that my health is important and 2018 means implementing a healthier life style. I am currently trying out the Military Diet. Another realization I came to for 2018 was that I need to do what makes me happy. So generic and basic but being away from home for the first time and living on my own at school I found I was often doing what everyone else wanted. I need to make me happy at the end of the day. So here’s to a healthier lifestyle and Mindset!
